Winter is to massive carbo-loads as summer is to tiny, bite-sized plethoras of tapas (or so says my bikini, accusingly, from its perch on my “garments I will wear when I am skinnier” chair). With the exception of BBQ (duh), I tend to stay away from hot foods almost entirely during the summer, preferring to munch on assortments of skewers, salads, and snacks.
Some recent highlights:
[Gorgeous berries from the Amagansett Farmer’s Market]
[Beer-battered Montauk squid tacos at Peels]
[Homemade mini-tarts with custard and fruit by my sister (ladies and gentlemen, she’s for hire. Check out her baking site, Petit Pops. Cake pops and more to die for)]
[Tosta Setas at Tertulia (tapas to die for)]
[Red Velvet Ice Cream Sandwiches at the I’m In The Kitchen launch party at the Mondrian Soho]
[TRUFFLE GOAT CHEESE CRAB PIZZA (all of those words are so so perfect) at Mehtaphor]
[Mezcal-infused grapes and mini-margaritas at White & Church]
Author’s Note: The “Light” in this title has clearly been invoked for rhyming purposes only, seeing as none of these are in any way healthy or nutritious. See ya in my one-piece.
