As a sucker for mix and matching, I’m typically much more drawn to separates than dresses. Even the most beloved of frocks tend to be a less desirable option, as they’re difficult to style more than one way, and thus hard to wear as often as my favorite skirts and blouses (see here for paranoid rambles on being photographed in the same dress twice for my many fans Instagram followers mom’s friends).

Once in a while, however, I’ll toss on a dress and marvel at how just the one garment can make me feel instantly put together. Life may not be black and white, but it’s always okay for one’s wardrobe to follow the color scheme.
